Passover: the new High Holiday

Dear CBC,

Please inform your writers that Passover is not “the Jewish High Holiday.”

I’m guessing that B’Nai Brith’s lawyer, Steven Slimovitch, was comparing Tuesday’s bombing to those threats (actual and realised) that have happened during Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. (NB: Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur are the Jewish High Holidays (aka, High Holydays).) I suspect Slimovitch was making a case for having the police protocol extended to cover Passover as well, since the need for ID at synagogue is only on the High Holidays, which, again, does not include Passover.

I look forward to seeing the story updated.

Your loving reader,
Feygele
